I was in New York last week for Root Markets' Vaultstock, and among the many smart folks I met was Scott Matthews of Bitty Browser, an example of which you see above. A Bitty Browser is a fully functional browser that sits within an existing web page--the one above is set to display Technorati's results for the "attentiontrust" tag. Scott describes it as "picture-in-picture for the web." Very cool.

It appears that the Bitty Browser's javascript isn't playing nice with TypePad's editing function, and I can't go back in to edit this post without crashing Firefox. No knock on Bitty Browser, as 1) it's still in beta, and 2) the fault could well lie with TypePad, but I thought I should mention it. Still cool.
I also wanted to mention that I dropped the same Bitty Browser into my right-hand sidebar, which shows how the frame can be re-sized. That one doesn't seem to be causing any problems with TypePad at all.
i see it in my safari browser on my mac. wow, that is friggin' cool! i'm not quite sure of all of the utility of it or whether it's really just cool with a real reason. but that's one cool-assed little trick there.
